Comfortable Formal Shoes for Special Occasions: My Three Picks
Perhaps you have a wedding to attend or better yet, you're the one getting married! Either way, you need a comfortable, stylish pair of dress shoes that won't hinder your dance moves at the reception. Here are my three picks for style and comfort; I've featured either white or silver but each shoe comes in other colors. Electric Slide, here you come...
1. Helle Comfort Benilda slide: You will be amazed at the cushioning in the footbed and excellent arch support of the Benilda (and all Helle Comfort shoes for that matter). A good choice for those with a wider forefoot. $153 at Zappos, five colors available at Endless.com for $148.95.
2. Beautifeel Prague: An Israeli based company, Beautifeel president Ami Bar-Nahor
created a line of shoe based on the concept of "dressy comfort." Beautifeel shoes were the only dress shoes I could wear before surgery to fuse the bones in my feet due to damage from rheumatoid arthritis. I was a middle-school teacher and needed a professional pair of pumps to wear to open house. My Beautifeels made it possible to stand in front of parents for three hours straight. I would invest in the Beautifeel Prague if I had more formal occasions to attend! The ultra-cushioned footbed and generous toe box area make Beautifeel shoes a solution for those with problem feet.
$291 at Zappos.
3. Indigo Kenitra: A favorite with Zappos customers, the Kenitra is an excellent choice for those that need a lower heel and prefer a covered toe. Available up to size 12. $84 at Zappos, $79.95 at Shoebuy.
