Naot and Birkenstock used to be one in the same in my book--cork footbed and two leather straps--comfy, but granola. But lately Naot is catering to us achy-footed fashionistas who want a shoe that is virtually orthopedic on the inside, but stylish on the outside.
Both the Hope and Pleasure are from Naot's Eden collection which leans toward the narrow-medium width foot. Both feature a cork and latex non-removable footbed for support. After a few wearings, the footbed will conform to the natural shape of your foot. Although neither style accommodates a custom orthotic, quite a few customers state that Naot is the one shoe they can wear without their orthotic--something to consider. The Pleasure features a velcro closure with removable bow while the Hop
e has an adjustable buckle closure.
Both styles available from OnlineShoes.com with free shipping and exchanges. Naot Hope--$186.95, Naot Pleasure--$170.95
