J-41 Rome Sporty Wedge Mule

When I find a look that's comfortable, casual and somewhat stylish, I stick with it varying the theme with a new color tee, different jewelry or a new bag (which these days is mainly my Skip-Hop diaper bag). Adding my new J-41 Rome patent mules to these run-of-the-mill, but oh-so-comfy Gap cargos classes up the overall look a bit with the shiny patent leather, geometrical stitching and wedge heel.

The J-41 Rome fits my foot like a glove sock and runs true to size. The contoured footbed is made of memory foam making this one comfortable mule. The Jeep® Trail Rated Sole provides excellent traction. Granted, I gave these their first test run on the dry, flat, sidewalks of Chicago, but I can see how the outsole would keep you from slipping on a wet, slippery surface.

The toe box isn't as roomy as Dansko clogs and the width runs medium-slightly wide. I like the elastic trim around the instep--keeps leather from cutting into the top of your foot when walking. Although the wedge is 2 3/4" high, I certainly don't feel like I'm walking around town in heels. The wedge is very stable.

Keds Bliss Wedge on the Playground

The kids weren't the only ones spiffied up for the start of school on Tuesday, some of the moms were looking extra smart too.  My friend Michelle had on her kelly green Keds Bliss wedges and  they  looked nothing short of fantastic on her.  I happened to have my camera to capture my oldest entering the school doors (he never looked back), so I snapped a quick photo of Michelle's shoes  and nicely tanned feet.
