Crocs Celeste in Denim Blue: It's Time To Cave
You've resisted them for five years. Day-glo colored amorphous shoes are not for you and are better left for ankle-biters at the playground. I hear ya. I really do. But if you come home day after day from the on-your-feet job with your dogs a-barkin', may I kindly suggest you give the Crocs Celeste a try? Look, there are no swiss cheese holes and yes, that's NATURAL FIBER canvas on the upper! The croslite™
insole provides support and cushions the foot at the same time.
I bought a pair of Crocs Celeste two years ago when I was trying to avoid bunion surgery by changing my shoe selection. I ordered a 10 since these run in whole sizes only and it is recommended that you order up if you are a half size. The fit was perfect right out of the box. I wear mine barefoot, but also with fun socks (which, I realize, is a huge Clinton and Stacy "no-no," but I'm 40, so who cares). The toe box, while not as roomy as the holey Crocs Cayman, still accommodated my medium-wide forefoot with bunions.
I'm featuring the Crocs Celeste in denim blue, the new color for fall. $56 at Zappos, free shipping and returns.

Have you had bunion surgery? I am trying to avoid it myself with RA and all...

I think my orthopedic guy jumped the gun and recommended surgery and I almost went through with it two years ago. But after reading that the recovery is rough and not always successful (and the fact were were expecting a baby through adoption), I just changed the shoes I was wearing--roomy toe box danskos, birks, crocs. I wore these for the next half year and my bunions really did go down in size and weren't that painful anymore.

It looks ok although I wouldn't wear them. I once had issues with bunions due to wearing the wrong shoe size as I couldn't find anything fashionable in UK Size 12 then. Since then, I have opted to wearing rounded toe or squared toe shoes and that seems to have helped.
I once thought of having surgery to reduced the size of my feet, but thank God I didn't go thru with that idea. Like you rightly said the recovery process is very unbearable.
I also started a blog called http://www.mylovelybigfeetblog.com. It offers daily updates on fashionable large size shoes for ladies with big/large feet.
