When you just can't find the shoe you're looking for at Zappos, give Shoebuy a try. Although their site doesn't provide as many "shoe views", close-up shots or customer reviews, they carry some unique comfort brands that I've never seen at Zappos such as Troentorp Bastad, Underfoot and Bernie Mev.
Why not try a new brand for the new year and get an extra $10 off with free shipping and returns? Just use coupon code SNOW at checkout. Here are three of my favorite comfortable shoes I discovered while browsing:
I'm a sucker for a well-made Swedish clog so I think I should give Troentorp Bastad a try. The alder wood footbed is orthopedically constructed (excellent arch support) and distributes weight properly through the stride. I've read a few customer reviews that state they prefer their wooden Troentorps to their flexible Danskos or other clogs. For those of you with high insteps, you'll like the adjustable ties on the Audubon to customize your fit. $110.95, free shipping and returns.
Punkin' Pie? Really? What a perfectly silly name for a seriously well made shoe. What caught my attention while reading the specs on this mary jane wedge by Underfoot is the removable cushioned insole. If you're sick and tired of trying to find a shoe that accommodates your dress orthotics, try the Punkin' Pie. Ok, that sounds so ridiculous. $139.95, free shipping and returns.
Looks like a cross between Aerosoles and Keen, right? The more I find out about Bernie Mev footwear, the more I like the brand--cute, comfy and fairly affordable. The Duct has a nicely rounded toe box and vamp that crosses the foot below the bunions. Although not quite as supportive as Keen, the arch and heel have extra cushion. $79.95, free shipping and returns.
