I'm not a huge fan of the Keds/Converse look on me. Lace-up shoes usually make my feet look like big fat size 10 paddles, but how can I resist the trifecta of purple+flowers+Keen? And let's throw in this too: they're on sale for under $50 at REI. I see these with a crisp white shirt, khaki pedal-pushers and some fun accessories (while riding a mint green cruiser bike with a basket full of flowers and french bread).

Being that there were no reviews of the Keen Coronado Print sneak at REI, I headed to Zappos where 50 customers have left comments regarding fit/feel on the Keen Coronado non-print. I suggest you read them before ordering as some folks love 'em and others, well, don't at all. This shoe seems to fit the wide foot best with ample room for toes. In fact quite a few mention that Converse, as cute as they are, never accommodate their wide feet, while the Keen Coronado is a perfect fit. Another customer states she can fit her custom orthotic in this shoe.

Comfortable Women's Shoes | Teva Ventura Cork 2 Wedge Sandal

And you thought Teva only made sport or water sandals.  Now they've managed to "wedge" in a little style too! Presenting reader Marlyn and her Teva Ventura Cork 2 Wedge sandals (and fabulous pedicure too). You may recall my review of the Teva Ventura thong sandal from last month, but I honestly like this shoe better--no toe post AND adjustable straps around the ankle. Here's Marlyn's review after wearing them around for a while:

I'm still loving the Tevas. The strap across the toes is not adjustable, and it's a TINY bit loose, but I think a front insole will take care of that (I do tend to be a bit narrow across the front of my foot). I usually wear flats, and thought the wedge heels might be uncomfortable , but they're absolutely not bothering me at all. 

Apart from the toes, they are true to size. I wore them all day today at work, and the only thing that bothered me was feeling like I was sliding down a tad. I like them enough that I am thinking of getting a pair of the plaid ones that Teva has discounted,  if they still have my size.

Comfortable Women's Shoes | Miz Mooz Burnette Platform Sandal

These are my "So what if I have rheumatoid arthritis, I can still look hip" shoes by Miz Mooz. I'm featured them earlier in the spring and am bringing them back for an encore because I've discovered this particular style, the Burnette, on sale for a pretty decent price.

I'm definitely not endorsing Miz Mooz as I would Dansko or Naot for helping to relieve chronic foot problems. BUT if you're looking for a trendy brand that mixes fresh, hip styles with subtle comfort features like padded footbeds, rounded toe boxes, manageable heels and stable platforms, take a look at Miz Mooz. They're fairly affordable too!

A word on sizing. From my experience and reading other customer reviews, many Miz Mooz styles run a half size small. You can tell in the photo above. I'm wearing a 10 in the Burnette, yet my toes come out a little too far. Unfortunately Miz Mooz only makes sizes 6-10. In my prior review, I state that they fit me perfectly, but now I find after wearing them for a few hours on a hot summer day, my feet swell hence pushing my toes forward. I wish these came in a 10 1/2.

In the photo: First of all, I want to thank my neighbor, Christine RN, for allowing me to take photos in her gorgeous garden. As I've said before, I'm no fashionista. I've purchased VERY few items of clothing for myself this summer which forces me to be more creative with items I already have hanging in the closet. Thanks to blogs like Simple Elegance, Real Style Real People, Already Pretty and Fashion for Nerds, I'm learning how to put together an outfit without spending a fortune AND how to add color to a hum-drum ensemble. I love this yellow belt from Francesca's Collections and wear it with too many outfits. I risk becoming the crazy lady in the yellow belt...and comfortable shoes.

Comfortable Women's Shoes | Clarks Unstructured Un.Poem Review

Those aren't polka-dots, they're air intake holes. Clarks calls the technology ACS or Air Circulation System. If you get the sweatyfeets, watch this video because I don't want to take up space explaining something so dang scientific on my blog about comfortable shoes. However, I've been wanting to feature Clark's Unstructured footwear for some time, but not owning a pair I felt inadequate writing on their behalf. Well, the day has come to push them into the limelight. Presenting the art teacher you wish you had, Erin K (Flickr member artisterin) and her Clark's Un.Poem mary janes. I agree with her choice of red, but realized this was gradually turning into a red shoe blog, so pictured the black above.

As a teacher, I am on my feet a lot and have been on a quest for both comfortable and fun (Hey, I'm an ART teacher!) shoes. I'd previously tried Earth Shoes and Born, but it was this pair of Clark's that sold me on shoes that make a difference! It hugs my arches nicely and the sole (which is flexible enough that I could bend the shoe entirely around itself!) gives the kind of support that prevents knee and lower backache. They also breathe incredibly well, which was a great surprise! I get regular compliments on how cute they are and keep from being "that teacher" in the orthopedic-looking shoes! I will definitely be buying Clark's again!
