These are Cape Clogs. Their origin can be traced back 150 years ago to a farm in southern Sweden.

For those of you with extra-sensitive feet, the alderwood footbed may be too hard on your soles. I found this to be true after wearing them with bare feet for too long. Try them with a pair of socks--helps tremendously!
