Years ago my brother-in-law coined my personal style as “a classical kind of funky.” I was impressed that a) he noticed what I was wearing, b) he thoughtfully named my look, and c) I actually had a “look.” What a guy. I hadn’t thought of this phrase for a long time, but it came to mind again when I saw these shoes by Nicole.
At first glance, they look like a pretty conservative oxford. But when you look again, you notice details that add a terrific bit of edginess. Something about them reminds me of the hipper-than-me brand John Fluevog. But unlike the Fluevogs, these would suit a girl who flirts with funkiness, but doesn’t necessarily want to commit to a relationship. They also get high marks from online buyers for style, comfort and versatility. I like them with the outfit I’ve put together (below), but also think they’d be great with jeans or a dress.
