Dangerous Dansko in Green Python Patent

You can always count on Dansko to surprise with an unexpected twist on their flagship style, the Professional. For Spring '10, the inssssssspiration is the python; a rodent-eating, arboreal snake from New Guinea--if you must know.
When I asked Doreen (owner of the python Danskos above) what she thought about the comfort level and fit of her new shoes, she wrote this:
They are comfy to me, I have several other pair of Danskos and love them. These are the new post 2007 footbed not the Sanita footbed. They are wider at the heel cup, and also at the base of the heel where it contacts the ground. I have only worn them a few days but they are comfortable. They are true to size, but more generously sized than the Sanita footbed Danskos in my opinion. I believe I could more comfortably wear thicker socks in these, if I so desired.

I know that some folk just can NOT tolerate the harder footbed of the Professional. If this applies to you, don't give up on Dansko all together. Try one of the shoes from the Sausalito collection. This "softer side of Dansko" offers all the comfort benefits of the Professional (rocker sole, roomy toe box, arch support) but with shock-absorbing foam footbed. Before my rheumatoid arthritis affected my metatarsal bones, I loved the Professional, but now I much prefer the softer footbed of the Sausalito line. Both carry the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance.
