I found your site recently and have been reading back through. It
appears we have "twin" feet - mine are also 9 1/2, were marginally
narrow, but now have a bunion to contend with. I bought those Merrell
sport hikers on your recommendation, also in a 10, and am delighted with
them.
So it appears I have found a personal shoe tester - keep on enabling me!
I have a previous year's incarnation of those Romikas (in fact I have
them in red AND brown), and they are my go-to summer sandals. Very
comfortable, and can be marginally loosened as feet swell during the
day.

So glad to meet you. Those Merrell Siren Sports are so versatile--just a tad roomy for thicker socks or orthotics, but so supportive. I don't own a pair of Romikas yet so would love any input you have about fit and feel--maybe a quick review of the ones you own?
Much-appreciated review by reader:
Romikas and I go back a long way - I bought my first pair when I was living in Holland in the early 1990's. I was glad to find them again here in the USA once internet shopping became viable, and have had a pair in my closet ever since. Their sizing is consistent, I always wear a 40. The footbed is lightweight, and molded to a foot-shape, so it seems secure. The upper leather quickly adapts to your foot, and the styles I have had have been well-cut so the foot does not slide around. I see the new style has less of a platform, but I never had any trouble walking on the higher one.
As for the ones I own, I love them for the things mentioned above, and because they don't much look like a "comfort" shoe. The red ones in particular have drawn several compliments. I also like the fact that each strap is adjustable. They are definitely all-day shoes. In case all this sounds like I work for the company, let me say all this only applies to the sandals, I have never been attracted to the shoes.
The Romika Maui 01 is available in euro sizes 36-42 for $134 @ Zappos, free shipping both ways. If you like a back-strap, try the Maui 112 for $107-134 @ Zappos.
