This is my friend, Heidi, in the Hush Puppies Burlesque Slip-On. What a gorgeous shade of crimson red!
While she hasn't had an opportunity to wear them to a trade show yet (her profession) to test for all-day comfort, she provides a few initial observations of the Burlesque style:
PROS:
- Comfortable padding everywhere to support whole foot.
- Cute style: love the buttons and crossover detailing.
- The color goes with many outfits.
- Love that it has a little heel (1 1/4"), so not completely flat.
- Has a roomy toe box without looking "wide."
CON:
It seems to rub the top of my foot where the "v" is. Might just need to be broken in a little bit more.
A word on sizing: The Hush Puppies Burlesque is available in four widths from narrow to extra wide. Heidi normally wears an 8 to 8.5 medium width and finds the 8.5 to fit well with socks. I have read that some customers find this style runs large, so they ordered down a half size.
The Hush Puppies Burlesque is available at:
- HushPuppies.com: $80, free shipping and exchanges.
- Zappos: $80, free shipping both ways.
- Amazon: $65.95-80, free shipping.
- Shoebuy: $64.95, free shipping and returns.
- FootSmart.com: $74.99, free shipping. You might find the reviews here helpful as many customers have problem feet.
Let me put a plug in for the Body Shoe collection from Hush Puppies. It has come to my attention since receiving the Burlesque, which is not from the collection. If you have particularly picky feet, I suggest you forgo the Burlesque and opt for a Body Shoe style. This collection features removable ortholite footbed and good arch support--some available in wide widths.
