Aerosoles Sol Music Review

Aerosoles Sol Music

Do you like shoes that feel like slippers? Do you like simple lines with no frills? Do you have feet that scream at every seam and blister easily?  Then look no further than the Aerosoles Sol Music skimmer. With a similar feel to the Mr. Softee, the Sol Music offers the softest of leather uppers with a sueded cushioned insole, and a flexible rubber composition outsole.

I have mine on now. I love how easy they are to just slip on and go. The vamp crosses below my bunions as not to irritate them and I can’t even feel the decorative stitching down the middle of the toe area. The best way to describe how I walk in these? Padding around on kitten paws. I’d recommend the Aerosoles Sol Music for anyone with hammertoes or bunions as the leather is so forgiving. If you need any kind of arch support, however, these shoes don’t have it. I can wear these on short errands, around the house, but not for long walks as I have relatively high arches.

As far as fit is concerned, I ordered a 9.5 medium (I usually wear a 10, sometimes a 9.5) as I read this style stretches out and runs a tad long. Glad I did! If you have a narrow heel, you may find the shoe slips a little too–try a pair of Foot Petals Heavenly Heelz to snug up the heel area.

The Aerosoles Sol Music is available in half sizes 5-11, 12 in medium and wide widths for $39-69 at; $69 at Zappos, $59-68 at Amazon.

Would these shoes by ‘orthotic’-friendly? I’ve been searching for months to find a flat shoe that had a bit of style that will accommodate my bunions. I add an insert that provides arch support that I purchased from Fleet Feet to all my shoes. I’m going to give these flats a try and was wondering if you think these shoes would accommodate an insert? It’s hard to know what size to buy. My Minnetonka mocs fit quite well, are 8 1/2, and will easily hold the insert but my tennis shoes are 9 1/2. I’m trying to decide between the 8 1/2 and 9.

Are these shoes similar in width to Mr. Softee?

    Hi Kirsten,

I am guy but as I had an injury in the top of my feet i am unable to wear close shoes so I started to wear flats. After reading your review, I bought this flats cause they are not really girly and my sister also told me that they are comfortable for her. I love how soft and comfortable are i wear them all the time and the only problem is the size they run large, I usually wear women shoe size 10 but with this flats I got 9.5 and the right feet sometimes tens to slip off of the shoe, so better to try them in the store or order half size smaller otherwise no blister no sweaty feet and the insoles feel like I am wearing slippers everyday. Thanks for your helpful review.

Oh, how I wish I had read your review at an earlier date! I ordered a pair of “Sol Music” last week from the Aerosoles website…they are only $29.99 right now…and I haven’t been this happy with shoes in ages. They’re just so ridiculously comfortable! Your description of “padding around on kitten paws” nailed it. I just went on and ordered a second pair, as I’m afraid they won’t be available for much longer. The only color being offered is black-which is what I was looking for-but I would honestly order these in each color if they were made available again. Not sure if they’ll be what I use to walk around Manhattan (can easily do 10 miles per day of pavement pounding) due to the lower arch support, but that’s the only caveat I can think of. I thank you and my feet thank you! tara
