Clark’s Purity Frost and Movie Retro Review
Clark’s 2014 fall collection will make you question if the shoes are truly Clark’s. Modern lines, sculpted heels, asymmetrical zippers decry the Clark’s of old: either crepe-soled Wallabies from Clark’s UK or mary janes, lace-ups and slip-ons…oh my. This season brings the Clark’s Purity Frost pictured above; a shootie with a 3 1/4″ sculpted wedge heel, Ortholite footbed and side zipper. Initial comfort reports from online customers look promising, if you’re a heel wearer. But if you don’t do heels, I wouldn’t make these your first, as beautiful as they are. There is no platform to offload some of the pressure on the forefoot, which is natural in a 3″ heel.
The Clark’s Purity Frost is available at Amazon: $29-60 with free shipping.
If you’ve tired of the basic black ankle boot, the Clark’s Movie Retro might just pique your interest again with its quilted detailing and zipper on a slant. The Movie Retro features Clark’s Plus intelligent underfoot cushioning system which enables the foot bones to sit in their most natural position. A steel shank provides lateral stability and midfoot support and a 2 1/4″ chunky heel offers a little height without compromising comfort (they come in gray too).
