6 Best Closed-Toe Sandals for Women (Comfortable, Stylish & Foot-Issue Friendly)

I’ll admit it. After living with rheumatoid arthritis since 1997, my toes are wrecked–crooked, curved and jacked up. Most days I don’t feel self-conscious about them–I just polish up the piggies and move on with life in my favorite summery sandals, but a great pair of closed-toe sandals can save the day when my toes aren’t up for a public viewing. The following six closed-toe sandals will cover your forefoot modestly while providing support for all-day comfort.

1. Dansko Rowan

“I was really surprised and pleased how well these shoes fit me. On my left foot I have a bunion and a hammertoe that has crossed. I need a high toe box or a wide toe box, although I do wear a size B or medium shoe. These fit perfectly! Plenty of room so my bunions and toes are not smashed or in pain.” – Zappos customer

The Dansko Rowan is a great option for medium to wide high volume feet with its generous toe box and adjustable instep strap. The arch support is moderate (not as high as original Dansko clogs).

Sizes: 36-42 (5.5-11.5) • Widths: M & W • Price: $80-140 from Dansko, Zappos & Amazon

2. Bared Footwear Bittern

Bared have an amazing customer service team that have great footwear knowledge, and take the time to get the shoe fit and function just right! I can be rest assured when referring patients, wether their foot be wide or narrow, big or small, they will find an amazing shoe.” Podiatrist Carissa Nicholson (from Bared Footwear’s “Reviewed by the Experts” page

Dare I call Bared Footwear orthopedic when it looks so lux? Podiatrist-designed with biomechanical footbeds, extra depth and firm heel counters, Bared Footwear is as beautiful as it is supportive. The Bittern closed-toe fisherman sandal is a perfect example.

Sizes: 34-43 (4-12) • Width: M • Price: $289 from Bared Footwear

3. Earth Berri

“Love these sandals! They tick all the boxes for me- closed toe, comfy for walking, easy on and off, slightly dressy to wear with summer dresses.” – Earth customer

An affordable, cute, budget-friendly, all-leather closed toe sandal–that’s the Earth Berri. The insole is cushioned and wrapped in soft microfiber. Elastic stretch loops provide a good fit.

What shoes are available for lymphedema feet? My feet are 1,0 (smaller) and 1.20 (larger). Thus far I am only wearing shoes that open wide so that my feet drop in. I am not talking WW shoes. We are talking Lymphedema shoes.
