Cloud Ace Tall Boot Review : Luxurious Leather Boots with a Sneaker-Type Feel
This review of the Cloud Ace boot is provided by CloudFootwear-NA.com. The opinions are completely our own based on experience.
When it comes to making a good-fitting boot, Europe does it best. Cloud footwear is made exclusively in Portugal, where they know a thing or two about making good shoes (see our review of two of their most popular styles). The Cloud Ace tall boot is no exception when it comes to impeccable fit and feel.
I have narrow calves and ankles (my thighs are a different story), so finding tall boots that don’t fit like buckets can be a challenge. The Cloud Ace features a stretchy fabric back panel that hugs the calves in a nice way–making just enough room for jeans, thick socks or leggings. The boot’s 14″ calf circumference stretches to 16″ thanks to the back panel.
The Cloud Ace is truly a no-fuss boot with its clean lines–no buckles, straps or tassels to clutter up its minimalist profile. The leather is top drawer–luxuriously soft to the touch and forgiving of bunions and hammertoes.
The footbed fits and feels like a minimalist sneaker. If your feet crave arch support or layers of cushioning, you may have to remove the insole and add your own orthotic. However, some feet prefer a more “in touch with the ground” feel and that’s exactly what you’ll get in the Cloud Ace boot.
The 1″ rubber outsole is flexible and lightweight-a similar feel to a pair of low-profile street sneakers. If you trip easily due to balance issues or foot drop, the Cloud Ace may work wonders for you with its low, flat outsole.
