When I first saw Cloud Footwear, I checked to see where they were made, because the styling seemed so distinctly European. My instincts were correct; they’re made in Portugal, with quality craftsmanship and delicious detailing we adore. Cloud shoes are lightweight, flexible and made of super soft leather. We road tested two pairs of Cloud Footwear, the Aline Wool Lining bootie, and the Aika sneaker.

The Cloud Aline Wool Lining bootie is as comfortable as a pair of slippers. The bootie is entirely lined with soft, genuine wool fleece; you can comfortably wear them with or without socks. Their roominess across the forefoot and lovely soft leather accommodate my bunions beautifully (I ordered up a size according to the brand’s recommendation, and am pleased with the extra wiggle room.) It’s hard to show in photos, but the leather has a gorgeous, subtle metallic sheen that is understated but adds interesting depth to the shoes’ appearance.
Most days this fall, these booties have been the first shoes I’ve reached for – they’re warm, comfy, and versatile. The footbed is lightly cushioned and removable, should you need to add an orthotic for greater arch support. I’ve tried them with an orthotic, and was still able to fit the fleece footbed on top of it, so I could gain support without sacrificing the wooly wonderfulness underfoot. (This is another advantage of sizing up.)

I have a feeling this cute low profile sneaker in red Italian leather will make quite a few Christmas lists this year! The upper is made of the softest leather my feet have ever felt (Cloud calls it cashmere leather) and the toe box is generous without looking clownish. These features make the Cloud Aika an excellent choice for feet with bunions and hammertoes like mine.

The flexible, lightweight rubber outsole and cushioned insole combine to give the Cloud Aika sneaker a barefoot/minimalist feel. For those that need arch support, the footbed is removable and will accommodate a thin orthotic or insole such as the Klogs DRX Cobra insole.
I’ve enjoyed wearing my Cloud Aika sneakers this fall as they add a pop of color to casual outfits and fetch compliments from friends and strangers alike. Even my teenage son remarked that the shoes have serious “street cred,” meaning they have a youthful, urban vibe (this suburban mom will take that as a compliment). One of my favorite features of the Aika is its side zipper– I tie up the laces to a snug yet comfortable feel and then use the zipper for easy on and off.
As far as sizing is concerned, I ordered a euro 41 for my size 10 feet and the fit is perfect. Refer to Cloud’s sizing chart to determine best fit.

I love the tennis shoe style. Do you think they would accommodate a foot that usually requires a wide width?
I think so? The leather is so soft and forgiving and you could loosen up the laces. You could take advantage of Nordstrom free returns.
I have the Aline in navy. Mostly, I like the wool lining, which I prefer in the colder months. The Aline feels like a sneaker of the olden days…..flat and no support. Although a thin supportive insole can work, it’s not my preference to add one. I usually wear an 8, and I have plenty of wiggle room and width in the 39.
I’m a little bit torn about the Aline, because it has some great points, (lightweight, supple leather, warm lining, cool look) but for the price, I wish it had some support. As an FYI, I thought the buttons (snaps?) would be functional, but they’re only decorative. That’s fine.
I purchased the cloud aika sneaker(like the black ones in your picture above) and am totally disappointed. I walked about 2 kms in them, got blisters on my heels and found that a very light rain made the black colour fade onto the beige laces! But the most disappointing is how tired my feet were. There is no sole support in these shoes which should be called slippers. I could feel every little rock I walked on. I am very disappointed to have spent over 225$ on these, thinking that they would last me a few years for those everyday adventures as you call them. I contacted the company, as having worn them, the retailer would not consider taking them back and they offered to replace the shoe laces!! So they can get stained again? I asked for a refund and they simply did not answer me. Cute, quality leather maybe, but comfortable long walks, no. A company that stands by its product and responds to customer issues, no.
I have a wide foot, and have several pairs of Cloud booties, and one that’s a sneaker with the side zipper. They all fit beautifully. I wouldn’t worry. They’re great shoes.
How flexible are the toes? I have Hallux Limits and need to make sure these wouldn’t aggravate my bad toe.
I want to purchase the CLoud Footwear Aline Bootie with inside zipper and color stripes on the outside fo the bootie.

First, THANK YOU for all you’re doing for all of us!! I have R.A. & Psoriatic Arthritis. Thank God, John Hopkins Rheumatology has been able to help with this. But I still have so much trouble with my feet. The Rheumatologist told me 90% of my foot pad on the bottom of my feet is gone. I can barely walk without some kind of cushioning on the bottom of my feet, and I need a roomy toe box too.Any suggestions for boots or mary jane shoes , or sneakers for fall/winter ? I have been wearing the new balance sneakers 1080’s, but it sure would be nice to have some variety ,and not be restricted to sneakers.
