Comfortable Sandals

Art Shoes – Comfortable, Fun-Forward Footwear from Spain

Spain makes the best shoes. They’ve cornered the market in quirky, boho, artsy footwear and what’s more–they’re comfortable! Consider Pikolinos, El Naturalista, and Camper. Maybe you have read my review before about the El Naturalista Iggdrasil Clog. But have you seen Art Metropolitan Soul shoes? Their sandals stand out in a crowd of Birkenstocks and Keens. I have a little shoe crush on the teal number with cross-stitching…

art metropolitan soul 2.jpgThese sandals by Art all feature a soft leather covered anatomical cork footbed with recycled rubber outsole to absorb shock. The arch support isn’t as pronounced as Birkenstock, and the sandals do not have adjustable straps across the forefoot, so I wouldn’t recommend for someone with wider feet. This is a hard-to-find brand in the US. Here’s a link to The Art Company store locator if you want to find a brick and mortar store near you.

Let me know if you have a pair of Art shoes–I’d love to know what you think of the fit and feel.

I have several pairs of arts and I LOVE THEM. I only have their heels, and my pairs are a few years old but they all run pretty true to size. I am a 9.5/10 or a 40 in almost all shoes (dansko, alegria) and a 40 in art!

I have two pair of ART shoes from a store in Madison , wi.
    They only had two styles.
I tried working with the website. That didn’t help.
Do you know anywhere in US that carries them.?
    Thank you

This store locator looks bleak for the US!

    Just bought Art shoes–model 111 I laugh–

Looked like ultra comfortable cute shoes, reasonable walking heal, but got blisters 1st day–am trying to adjust the heal strap, but so far no luck. I have average width, very easy to fit feet. These feel like they have my foot too far back so that the wide part of my forefoot does not sit properly between straps, giving me blisters on both feet. Paid full price, feeling frustrated:(

I love them, been wearing them for years. I have hypermobility in the upper foot in both feet so I need to wear big orthotics to stabilise my feet. I also now how arthritis in my big toes. If I wear sandals they need to have solid backs on them. I really hate having to buy new footwear as the choices for me are so limited. However, Art shoes and some of their sandals are very supportive and cushioned. I’m always so sad when a pair wears out! They are the best shoes I’ve found and as a designer I want shoes that look cool and funky and colourful! These totally fit the bill. They give me joy!! Unfortunately my local shop here in Scotland no longer sells them but I buy them online from Jelly Egg, or direct from Art in Spain.
