Kuru Moment Recovery Slides Review: Real Relief for Arthritic Feet

In a Kuru Moment, my feet knew they’d stumbled on a special shoe–sweet relief after a day of on-my-feet errands, chores and a Zumba class. And truth be told, some days just a trip to the mail box has my arthritic feet complaining!

I may have received the Kuru Moment recovery slide from Kuru Footwear, but rheumatoid arthritis taught me a long time ago to judge a shoe by its footbed, and this one earns its keep.

Kuru Moment

That thick footbed is KURUCLOUD foam, and it’s soft, but here’s what actually matters for arthritic feet: it doesn’t sink and stay like the mushy memory foam in so many “recovery” shoes. Press into it and it gives the support back instead of just swallowing up your foot. By the end of a long day, that’s the difference between a slide that helps and one that just feels nice in the store.

Flip it over and you’ll see that deep heel cup—that’s Kuru’s signature KURUSOLE, and it’s doing real work. It cradles the heel and takes pressure off the joints with every step, which is exactly what I need after my heels have been pounding pavement all day. There’s real arch support built in too, not some flat little slab pretending to help. It’s positioned right where my arch actually needs it, and it keeps my foot from collapsing in on itself with every stride.

Kuru Moment

The toe box is roomy, which matters more than people realize if you’re dealing with swollen feet or bunions—mine finally have room to breathe instead of getting squeezed at the end of a long day. The hook-and-loop strap adjusts easily for a custom fit, so you’re not fighting with it one-handed after a workout.

Kuru Moment KURUSOLE

At 7.4 ounces, these are light enough that you forget you’re wearing them, but supportive enough that you notice when you take them off. This is the pair my feet say thank you for—post-Zumba, post-gardening, post-everything. If your heels or arches are barking by dinnertime, the Kuru Moment deserves a spot by your back door.

Available in whole sizes 5-12, medium width (but adjustable to wide) for $99 from Kuru Footwear.
