Taking Max (our new Wheaten Terrier puppy) on a walk is an adventure often best suited for more outdoorsy shoes like my Topos. But today Max was looking cute with his new haircut and bandana, so I decided to put crisp white Taos sneakers on to take him for a springtime trot up the country road near our central Indiana home.

If you’re familiar with Taos sneakers, specifically the canvas Star model, you understand that these aren’t just any flimsy lace-up meant to last one season. Oh no. The Taos Star Burst is jam-packed with comfort features and is built to last.

Taos sneakers feature a Curves & Pods® polyurethane removable footbed with three areas of enhanced support: heel, arch and metatarsal arch along with excellent cushioning. Plus, the toe box accommodates a wider forefoot (and bunions). You would think that with this kind of supportive footbed, the shoe would look bulky, but not so! The Taos Star Burst remains streamlined and chic. One thing to keep in mind: if you have high volume foot, you may find the toe box and instep to be on the shallow side. I have a little trouble getting my foot into the shoes, but once in, no problem.

I love my new Taos sneakers and plan to wear them with shorts, sundresses and my new favorite kick flare crop jeans. The fit is true, but if you plan to wear orthotics, you might want to order up a half size. The Taos Star Burst canvas sneaker is available in sizes 6-11 for $100 from TaosFootwear.com.
