10 Comfortable, Stylish Women’s Loafers for Bad Feet
Kirsten Borrink
My personal favorite comfortable loafers are the bestselling Vionic Uptown. If you’ve followed Barking Dog Shoes for any length of time, you know I have rheumatoid arthritis and bad feet, so I do understand what makes a comfortable, supportive loafer. I’ll start this list with my video review of the Vionic Uptown (I’ve had them over a year and they’re still going strong), followed by nine more bestselling women’s loafers with high reviews for style and comfort. Feel free to share your recommendations in the comment section. Oh, and a little hint: if loafers tend to give you heel blisters while you break them in, try this nifty little product that I saw mentions on Reddit: Compeed Anti-blister stick!
1. Vionic Uptown
Vionic Uptown Comfort/Support Features
Everyone’s favorite comfortable loafers! Over 6000 reviews on the Vionic website with an average 4.6/5 stars for comfort, fit and style. I love my Vionic Uptowns for the enhanced arch support, soft suede uppers that don’t pinch bunions or tailor’s bunions. They go with all my casual outfits from jeans to trousers to skirts. They’re available in so many pretty colors: neutrals, patterns, deep jewel tones and color block.
“These shoes fit like a glove. Wore them all day on the first wear with no discomfort. Very stylish with good arch support. I look forward to many years of wear.” – Deb, Taos customer
Taos Footwear Support for 3 Arches
Taos Gabby
Taos footwear is created with all three of the foot’s arches in mind: medial, lateral and metatarsal. The classic Gabby loafer features support for all three with its removable Curves & Pods® footbed (see photo).
I refer to this fabulous Clarks shoe as a Goldilocks loafer (it’s just right)–check out my review here. It’s not too pricey, but certainly not cheaply made; the arch support isn’t too aggressive, but also not flat; the lug sole isn’t too chunky, but not thin and flimsy…you get the idea. Apparently I’m not the only one that thinks the Westlynn Bella is the bees knees–Clarks customers award this sweet loafer 4.7 stars out of 5!

Cole Haan Lana Lux Remastered
4. Cole Haan Lana Lux
A timeless quality-made square toe loafer with soft leather uppers and a nicely cushioned footbed. The Cole Haan Lana Lux Remastered receives positive feedback for its good fit and feel.
“This classic style comfortable and not boxy; the tapered toe gives it a slimmer look.” – Easy Spirit customer Wendy
4. Easy Spirit eFlex loafers
Do you prefer a loafer with a tapered toe? How about one that comes in extended sizes and widths? And a removable footbed that accommodates orthotics? Then try a pair of Easy Spirit’s eFlex loafers with a removable cushioned footbed with arch support and flexible outsole.
Do you have slightly narrow, low volume foot? These comfortable loafers by Dr. Scholl’s Shoes may be your answer. Most customer reviews state that the Hello loafer fits a narrow to medium foot width best and runs just a little short, but the comfort technology is spot on for the price.
Kirsten Borrink reviews and recommends the best footwear for people with various foot issues (as well as for women with average feet for whom comfort is a high priority). She has reviewed more than 1,705 comfortable shoes since 2007.
