Birkenstock Boston with Rivets Review: Comfort for Achy Feet

Classic Comfort Meets Edgy Style: the Fall “It” Shoe for Achy Feet

This Birkenstock Boston  elevates a well-known and beloved silhouette to a fall fashion statement with its golden rivets. I notice the Boston style on the feet of teenagers when I sub and often tell them that they’ll thank themselves later for taking care of their feet now–they don’t get it but they will. The ample toe room, soft uppers and support for arches, metatarsals and heel make the Birkenstock Boston my favorite cooler weather go-to shoe…and it’s so easy to slip on. Pick up a pair of Maggie Organics cotton ragg socks to pair with the Boston for all-season warmth.

There’s just something about the cork-latex footbed  that agrees with my RA-ridden feet. Granted the arch support feels aggressive at first but give it time and it molds to each unique footprint. I also suffer from metatarsalgia (ball-of-foot pain) due to arthritic changes in my forefoot. Overly cushioned footwear feels good in the moment but eventually contributes to discomfort, that’s why I stick with Birkenstock (and Stegmann) for day-to-day wear around the house, at work, and for short walks.

I’m loving the shiny gold rivets against the soft black suede–just enough bling to zhuzh up a plain jane outfit.

A word on sizing: I’m wearing a euro 41 narrow/medium for my size 10 medium width feet (with wider forefoot due to tailors bunions), but order the regular width if you have wider feet.
