I went to my closet and grabbed the five shoes I’ve been wearing the most these days, then headed to the park to shoot a quick video. For those new to my site, I have rheumatoid arthritis so that informs my opinions about how each shoe fit and feels. Pardon the wind noise in the video. I live in Windiana.
All shoes mentioned in this video are listed below with current prices and sizing information.
This is the lowest profile Hoka. While the cushioning is good, you won’t feel like you’re walking on marshmallows. The toe box is roomy enough to accommodate bunions and hammertoes. Great arch support and snug fit at heel. 4 mm heel to toe drop.
I wore these to sub for two days straight and didn’t think about my feet except for how cute they looked in these sweet sneakers by podiatrist-designed Frankie4–that’s a tall order for size 10 feet. A removable supportive insole accommodates a thin orthotic (also comes with a half insole to create more room in toe box).
If you need a sandal with a rigid sole to protect your forefoot joints, the Taos Super Side is for you. Enhanced arch support, adjustable straps and quick-dry fabric make this a fabulous all-purpose outdoor sandal.
• Sizes: 6–11 • Width: M • Price: $160 from Taos Footwear, Zappos & Amazon
My friend had these sneakerinas on at a wedding shower and I was thrilled to find them at Amazon for $49. Are they top quality? No. Do they have good arch support? No. But they don’t cause blisters and don’t irritate the sensitive toes. It’s a trend I can wear fairly comfortably this summer.
• Sizes: 5.5–11 • Width: M • Price: $49.90 from Amazon
I did receive these from Frankie4, but I’m not blowing smoke when I say I truly love these espadrille sandals for my picky feet. Soft on the toes, excellent cushioning and even arch support. Great quality and super versatile too.
