A few seasons ago I would have never used the words "light and airy" to describe a pair of Keens. Between last year's Sienna and now the Madrid, I can safely say that Keen is answering the request for more streamlined and feminine shoes. In fact, the reviews are starting to come in over at Zappos. Both customers state that while the Keen Madrid mary jane seems to run a half size large, the comfort factor is top notch--even for problem feet. Apparently the synthetic mesh upper is perfect for the wider foot as it stretches for a customized fit. If you like the look of the shoe as I do, keep tabs on the Zappos reviews as the spring season approaches to help you make your decision to order or not. $79.95, free shipping both ways.
Nothing says, "I'm a girly-girl," like the shoe corsage. While the sandals featured above may be a bit over-the-top for some, you southern gals that wear hats to church will no doubt love these. Quite honestly, I'm a fan of the big, floppy flower as it provides more coverage for my less-than-perfect toes.
Here are six comfortable floral sandals ranging from quite glam to everyday casual. Chime in and tell me your favorite in the comment section below:
1. Born Crown Plumeria: From Born's Signature Crown Collection, the Plumeria isn't for the wallflower. At first glance, I was bowled over by the size of the foot corsage, but the Plumeria has certainly grown on me. I'll be featuring an "on-the-foot" review in a few weeks. Whole sizes up to 11. $99 at Shoeline, free shipping; $99.95 at Zappos, free shipping and returns.
3. Oka b. Lucy: Pretty cute, eh? I'm not a scientist and I don't play one on my blog, so if you want to read more about how Oka b. shoes are made, check out their website. Just know that they're soft, cushiony, cute and made in the good ol' US of A--Atlanta, Georgia to be precise. The floral Lucy is $40 (free shipping over $55).
4. Sofft Felicity: Need a little lift? Not only does the Felicity come in cheery spring colors, it features just a bit of a heel coming in at 1 1/2 inches. $89.95 at Shoebuy, free shipping and returns, $74.70 at The Shoemart, free shipping.
5. Mephisto Babata: If you need serious arch support but want to break from your predictable Birks, try the floral Babata. Not cheap, but excellent reviews over at Zappos. $214.95, free shipping and returns. A few sizes left at 6pm for $122. Shoes.com also carries the Mephisto Babata for $199, free shipping and returns.
6. Born Crown Hibiscus: Won't someone please get married and invite me? As Liz Lemon says in 30 Rock, "I want to go to there..." in these shoes! Here's a quick video shot of thin legs and nice feet in the Hibiscus (not mine). $119 at Shoeline, free shipping.
A few weeks ago, I was asked to write a guest blog feature for OnlineShoes.com's media site, OnlineShoes.tv and it's up and live, baby! What did I write about? ROOMY TOE BOXES, of course--you know me. I'd love for you to click on over and give it a read, especially if you have the dreaded bunions or hammertoes. Oh my.
Other noteworthy news: the winner of the Palladium shoe giveaway is Jen S. from Highland Park, IL. Now, before you think, "But I never win ANYTHING," stay tuned for the upcoming Born shoes giveaway in March!
Sarah Falkebring is my favorite international reader. Ok, maybe my ONLY international reader, but I adore her nonetheless. Just look how smashing she looks with her short crop do, gorgeous flouncy skirt and rockin' comfortable shoes. Oh, and how could I not give mention to her cute doggy friends; Oskar the Bichon Havanese, and Nelly the Portuguese Water dog. I'm going to step aside and let Sarah do a bit of guest blogging for me today as she reviews the Tsubo Aeria pump.
This
shoe is most definitely THE most comfortable high heeled shoe I've ever
owned. I'd even go so far as to say one of the most comfortable pairs
of shoes, period. They fit as if they were made for my feet and are
extremely soft. They sort of cradle and cushion the heel of my foot and
the way the heels are balanced on the shoe makes them feel perfectly
stable and solid to walk in. I ordered a half size up in these and they
are perfect. My only complaint would be that the brown suede I ordered
is a bit "fake" looking and seems like it might not wear all that well.
I love the fit and feel of them so much I ordered another pair in the
plain brown hoping they will wear better. My Tsubo size summary--they run small by at least a half size.
Endless: black suede, $77--free overnight shipping, free returns.
