Happy 2010! May all your shoes be comfortable and your bunions, neuromas and fallen arches be few. After driving 2500 miles to visit beloved family over the holidays, I am back home and ready to talk shoes! You too? Did you get a new pair under the tree? C'mon, don't be shy--I want to hear about them!
Now let's take a look back at some of the best comfortable shoes from 2009 featured on BarkingDogShoes.com. It's hard to narrow it down to five, but I did my best.
1. J-41 Journey: This peep-toe wedge put J-41 on the map (if you're a J-41 fan, you'll get the lame joke). With over 400 customer reviews (mainly 5-star for comfort), the Journey can be dressed up or down and comes in 9 colors. Read my reviews here: red pair (too big), blackberry pair (just right).
2. Wolky Jewel: Do you have a pair of Wolkys yet? I keep raving about this Dutch company, but they deserve every accolade. While not exactly budget-friendly, the Jewel sandal has all the comfort shoe bells and whistles: rocker sole, anatomical footbed, velcro straps galore. Reviewed here.
3. Born Codder: This adorable mary jane is versatile, comfortable and comes in a size 12! Reviewed here.
4. Bogs boots: Comfort-rated from temperate to -30 thanks to a thick layer of neoprene. Bogs come in fun prints and colors and serve as a rain AND snow boot. Read the review.
5. Pg Lite Alegria footwear: These funky shoes aren't for everyone. But if you have wider feet and need good arch support and room for toes, you'll love how the Alegria feels. What's more, the footbed is completely removable to accommodate a custom orthotic. Alegria clogs and shoes come in a variety of colors and patterns. Reviewed here.
Congratulations to Jane! She won the Sanita clog giveaway from The Clog Outlet!
