Shoes for Bunions Part 3 – Easy Comfort All Day Long
Finding shoes for bunions (or any hard-to-fit feet) can be challenging, especially when life takes us so many places with different requirements for appropriate shoes. People with bunions have schedules as full and varied as anyone else – and also want to look good! So the Barking Dog has sniffed out a selection of bunion-friendly shoes to keep you comfortable and style-appropriate no matter what activities your day brings. Note that several of these finds come in multiple widths, a huge plus for many folks – bunions or not – who have a hard time finding shoes that fit.
The Trotters Sizzle wins top marks for comfort and versatility – we can picture this cute and supportive flat everywhere from a casual work environment to out-and-about with leggings or jeans. The best part? They come in sizes 5-12 and FIVE widths (and eight great colors & patterns)! Those with hard-to-fit feet, rejoice! Available at Zappos, Amazon, OnlineShoes.com and Nordstrom. Find a Trotters retailer near you.
Finding office-appropriate shoes for bunions can be a particular challenge. The Aravon Portia is a versatile business-casual shoe that comes in FOUR widths and gets dozens of five-star reviews for comfort. The cut of the shoe accommodates bunions nicely, and the velcro fastener means a secure fit and easy on/off. The Aravon Portia is available in several versatile colors, but our favorite is this on-trend navy. Available at Zappos, Amazon, and Rockport.com. Find an Aravon retailer near you.
When it’s time to run errands or meet a friend for lunch, the Jambu Mason will keep you cute and comfortable. This shoe makes our “shoes for bunions” list because of its soft kid suede upper, high vamp that doesn’t cut across ouchy parts of the foot, and soft memory foam footbed. But it makes our “shoes we want to wear” list because of the adorable styling! Available at Zappos, Amazon, Jambu.com, and Sierra Trading Post. Find a Jambu retailer near you.
Heading out for a walk or to the kids’ sporting events? The FitFlop Loaff Sporty slip-on has great arch support, plenty of toe room to accommodate bunions, easy-on elastic goring, and comfy-cute styling that would be great with track pants or jeans! Those with fussy feet have found FitFlop sandals to be a godsend, so it’s nice to see the brand expanding their offerings to include a wider selection of comfortable shoes. Available at Zappos, Fitflop.com, Amazon.
If you need a dressier shoe for a business-suit requiring job or special occasion, try the Walking Cradles Sophia pump. Reviewers love the soft leather, all-day comfort, and not-too-high heel. There’s plenty of room for bunions in sizes 4-13 and FIVE widths, from AAA to EE. To quote a Zappos customer, “These are fantastic professional shoes if you are plagued with bunions.” Available at Zappos, Amazon, and The Walking Company. Find a Walking Cradles retailer near you.
Do you have serious bunions? Maybe you find yourself frustrated because what others consider “good shoes for bunions” won’t work for you at all. Fear not, we’ve found two great picks for those who need comfort first and foremost.
The Arcopedico LS gets hundreds of five-star reviews for comfort, and we see why – great support, stretchy knit uppers to accommodate bunions and hammertoes, and laces for an easily-adjustable fit. (And we happen to think they’re pretty cute!) Available at Zappos and Amazon. Find an Arcopedico dealer near you.
The Propet Olivia Slip-On is another great choice if you have serious bunions. Propet specializes in shoes for hard-to-fit feet or feet needing special care, so it’s no surprise they make terrific shoes for bunions. The Olivia features a soft leather upper, stretchable vamp, a removable insole to accommodate custom orthotics, and an adjustable strap for perfect fit.
